Our removal services are now required more often than not from customers from out of our area wishing to move to Wiltshire. We get many calls every week from those wishing to have a quotation, and around 30% of our removals occur from those out of the area back in.

With recommendations high, it is natural progression that a high proportion of removals occur the 'opposite' than normally expected. Below are some simple guide lines that can be used before you contact us.

Intransit Removals lorry outside a large house1) The quotation process normally involves a representative from the company coming to view your home to gain an inventory of the contents to be removed and the customer requirements. However, if you live away this is not possible, so we always require an e-mail inventory from yourselves where possible. You can always write one and post it to us if you have no e-mail available. What we are looking for is an honest appraisal - simply list the furniture in each room, and a guesstimate on boxes. Concentrate on garage and garden effects, including the awkward ones like plant pots etc. Also advise us of both addresses involved, your full contact details, and anything else that may be relevant including any access problems to either property.

2) Price - it will not always be the case that we are cheaper as we are not from the area. For example in London, many people think looking outside may be cheaper. It might well be, but it also may be relative to the move in question as you are asking a professional company to undertake your removal.

3) Packing - ideally in this scenario it should be a self pack basis, as providing a full packing service involves days prior to the removal (which we have not yet seen) and the cost of such an exercise can rise dramatically. This is not to say by any means we will not undertake it, as we do, but it is more cost effective if it's a customer pack.

4) Parking - This is a very important part of this type of removal, for example when moving from London it is now solely the customers responsibility to provide parking restrictions enough to cope with whichever vehicles are required. Your local council can help with this, and there is normally a small charge by Borough Councils.

Traffic wardenIt is also important if ordering this service by e-mail, or otherwise, that you keep copies of all requests for restrictions and replies. Sometimes the restrictions fail to be put in place even though you have requested and paid and the vehicles can still get tickets!! Any tickets which we gain will have to be settled by the customer before the end of the removal. We WILL help whereever we can - we can find numbers for you to use and we carry police cones, but in some areas this simply is not enough. Whatever the case, if the access is poor, or restricted, then TELL US, as the worse thing for us is when we are not told. This can delay or even postpone your removal as well as cost you more money.

5) Timing - we never 'skimp' on time, if we need 2 days we'll say and quote as much, and staff the removal properly. We have enough experience to guide you to a successful removal, without question.

Never let your forthcoming removal bother you. We can cope, and we will quote quickly and competitively - our history proves as such. For example on an average month we have had removals from London, Cambridge, Northants, Lancaster, Oxford, Brighton, Camborne (Cornwall) & Cheltenham.

We look forward to working for you!
